We now also have Belk Charity Sale Tickets available in the Day School Office.

 Every year Belk hosts a 4 hour in-store sale to support select charities. This years sale is Sat, Nov 5, 6-10am with a Pre-Sale from Oct 25- Nov 4th. Tickets are $5 & offer you $5 off your first purchase on the date of the sale. The entire $5 benefits the Day School & you get some great Christmas shopping done at great prices!

Fall SaveAround Fundraiser

St. Michael's Families!

It's time for our SaveAround Fundraiser. Last year this was a huge success and raised enough for us to put those beautiful new rugs and toys in our classrooms! This year we are excited to beat last years sales of 113. We will be using the funds for program enhancement and new equipment in our classrooms like easels and smocks. 

There are few changes this year. When someone purchases a coupon book they also have access to the app...no worrying about whether you forgot the coupon at home! There are new coupons added this year from Macy's, Whole Foods, BurgerFi and more! 

Please note that the book in your fundraising envelope is not a free book. The book needs to be paid for or returned when our fundraiser wraps up October 18th.

St. Michael’s Fall Festival Recap … Our Annual Fall Festival was a day filled with fun and laughter!  Gates opened at 10am when students picked up their goody bags and began enjoying our yearly activities including a Bean Bag Toss, Cake Walk, Book Fair, Spider Toss, Treasure Hunt, Puzzles and more.    Thank you to all of our families and volunteers who helped make this our BEST FALL FESTIVAL YET!!!!		RUGS FOR ROOMS!!! Not only was our Fall Festival a HUGE success, but we were also able to reach our goal for our RUGS FOR ROOMS campaign with the $aveAround Fundraiser thanks to our dedicated and generous St. Michael’s Families!  A HUGE thank you to Board Member              Liz McKillop for coordinating this fundraiser and to all of our families for your incredible support!!!

Please feel free to bring your topping in to your teacher in advance so we can have the 'ice cream bar' set up when you arrive!

We are expecting quite the crowd! This is a great time for fellowship and meeting new friends at St. Michael's.  We hope to see you there.

Teaching Community Service to Our Students

April's Community Service Project -- The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

St. Michael's Day School is proud to encourage our students to look beyond the classroom into our community to see how they can help.  Through our Chapel Feet program we teach our students about such things as food insecurity and the food bank; Children's Miracle Network and what children in the hospital are feeling; those less fortunate who need winter coats or blankets; Ronald McDonald house and what families are going through when a child is sick; the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, raising awareness about this disease; and how sometimes our elderly and our wounded soldiers are lonely and would love to receive cards and happy pictures.

Each month we place the spotlight on an issue and strive to raise awareness, donations, etc. for a particular cause.

A few years ago, one of our teachers, Amanda Denahan, educated us on a disease her daughter Sage lives with every day. That disease is Cystic Fibrosis. The disease primarily affects the lungs but can also affect other systems like the digestive system.  In April, we set out to teach our families about this disease and raise donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Jars were placed in front of the classrooms sporting photos of each of our staff members. Families were asked to place donations into the jars.  The staff member who received the highest donations would kiss a REAL alligator!

The competition was fierce. Ms. Karen of the Purple Peacocks' class was in the lead for most of April. It seemed a done deal that she would be kissing that reptile!!  But then a new leader emerged!

We raised $105 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a winner was declared -- Ms. Lizz!

Ms. Mary's husband, Ken, is a Fish and Wildlife Officer.  On May 13th, he brought a juvenille alligator to the school....with his mouth taped shut!  Mr. Ken held the alligator while our very own Red Robins' teacher Ms. Lizz puckered up and kissed her prince. I mean, alligator!

Mr. Ken stuck around to teach us a little about our 4-legged visitor and offered the children the option of touching the alligator's back!

Thank you Mr. Ken for helping us raise money for Cystic Fibrosis!

And special thanks to all the families who donated to support our crazy scheme and most importantly to help kids like Sage have hope for a CURE for Cystic Fibrosis.
